How do I create an account on NaijaGigs?

Click the "Sign Up" button, choose whether you're a client looking to hire or a freelancer offering services, then fill in your details. Verify your email and you're ready to go!

What's the difference between clients and freelancers?

Clients post jobs and hire freelancers. Freelancers offer services and bid on jobs. You can have both roles, but choose your primary one during signup.

Is NaijaGigs free to use?

Yes! Creating an account and browsing is free. We only charge a 5% service fee on completed transactions to maintain the platform and provide secure payments.

How do I complete my profile?

Go to Settings → Profile. Add a professional photo, write a compelling bio, list your skills, upload portfolio samples, and set your availability. A complete profile gets more opportunities!

How do I find jobs on NaijaGigs?

Browse the "Find Gigs" section to see available jobs. Use filters to find work that matches your skills. You can also post your services in "Post Skills" so clients can find you directly.

How do I write a winning proposal?

Read the job description carefully, address the client's specific needs, showcase relevant experience, provide examples of similar work, and offer a clear timeline and fair price.

What should I charge for my services?

Research market rates for your skills in Nigeria and globally. Start competitive to build reviews, then increase rates as you gain experience and positive feedback on the platform.

How do I build a strong reputation?

Deliver quality work on time, communicate professionally, exceed client expectations, ask satisfied clients for reviews, and maintain a high completion rate.

For Clients

How do I post a job on NaijaGigs?

Click "Post a Gig", choose your category, write a clear job title and description, set your budget and timeline, then publish. You'll start receiving proposals from qualified freelancers.

How do I choose the right freelancer?

Review their profile, portfolio, and client reviews. Look for relevant experience, good communication skills, and competitive pricing. Don't always choose the cheapest option - consider value and quality.

What makes a good job posting?

Be specific about what you need, include examples or references, set a realistic budget and timeline, mention required skills, and provide all necessary files or information upfront.

How do I manage my hired freelancers?

Use the messaging system to communicate clearly, provide prompt feedback, be available for questions, respect agreed timelines, and release payments promptly when satisfied.

Payments & Billing

How does NaijaGigs payment system work?

We use an escrow system powered by Paystack. Clients deposit funds securely, freelancers complete work, and payment is released when both parties are satisfied. This protects everyone involved.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major Nigerian bank cards, bank transfers, and mobile money through Paystack. International clients can pay with Visa, Mastercard, and other global payment methods.

When do I get paid as a freelancer?

Payment is released to you once the client approves your completed work. Funds typically appear in your account within 1-3 business days depending on your withdrawal method.

What are NaijaGigs service fees?

We charge a 5% service fee on completed transactions. This covers platform maintenance, secure payments, customer support, and dispute resolution services.

How do I withdraw my earnings?

Go to your dashboard, click "Withdraw Funds", choose your preferred method (bank transfer or mobile money), enter your details, and confirm. Minimum withdrawal is ₦1,000.

Account & Security

How do I keep my account secure?

Use a strong, unique password. Don't share your login details. Be cautious of phishing emails. Always communicate through NaijaGigs messaging system. Report suspicious activity immediately.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page, enter your email address, and follow the reset instructions sent to your email. If you don't receive it, check your spam folder.

How do I update my profile information?

Go to Settings → Profile to update your personal information, skills, portfolio, and preferences. Remember to save changes before leaving the page.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, but complete all ongoing projects first. Go to Settings → Account, then click "Delete Account". This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Technical Support

The website is loading slowly. What should I do?

Try refreshing the page, clearing your browser cache, or using a different browser. Check your internet connection. If the problem persists, contact our support team.

I can't upload files. What's wrong?

Ensure your file is under 10MB and in a supported format (PDF, DOC, JPG, PNG). Try a different browser or disable browser extensions. Clear your cache and try again.

I'm not receiving email notifications.

Check your spam/junk folder. Add support@naijagigs.net to your contacts. Verify your email address in Settings. Check if notifications are enabled in your preferences.

The messaging system isn't working.

Try refreshing the page or logging out and back in. Ensure JavaScript is enabled in your browser. If the issue continues, use our support channels to report the problem.
